The best time to post on Facebook is … easy to determine by viewing your Facebook insights!
Your Facebook business page comes equipped with a set of analytic tools called “Insights.” They are located in your Admin Panel.
Once inside your Facebook Insights, click on the “Posts” tab (shown below) …
There, you’ll find a nifty interactive graph called “When Your Fans Are Online” …
This is where the magic happens! Within Insights, Facebook shows you when your fans were online during a recent one-week period. It doesn’t reflect when fans saw your page’s content, but simply, when fans of your page were on Facebook and active. This information can be helpful in determining when your content could reach (potentially) the largest number of fans. For instance, the best time to post on Facebook for the page shown in this graph is between 8 p.m. and 9 p.m. because Facebook reports the largest number of fans—about 700—are online during this time.
If you hover over a specific day—like Tuesday—the interactive graph changes to reflect when your fans are online during that particular day of the week. This information can help determine the best days to post, too.
Other variables, including Facebook’s news feed algorithm, will determine whether or not fans actually see the content you post. But knowing the best time to post on Facebook to possibly reach the greatest number of fans will, at the very least, give you a starting point to experiment with.
